Jennings Harley-Davidson Gateshead

Focus were commissioned by Jennings Motor Group to carry out the design of the new Harley Davidson Motorcycle Showroom in Gateshead. The scheme involved the strip out of an existing retail unit back to the primary structure and the refurbishment of the remaining shell into a high quality boutique showroom.

The idea behind the showroom was to express the industrial feel of the local area and the heritage of the northeast. For this reason, the existing steelwork structure of the building was emphasised and expressed along with brick and timber cladding to the internal finishes.

The scheme also included a new workshop extension to the rear of the existing building for the service and repair of the motorcycles themselves.

Attention has been given to the Jennings history of over 100 years has been woven into the finishes of the building to convey the heritage of the Jennings group and the origins of the company's motor vehicle history.
